Biography
K.D. Smith is a California state licensed acupuncturist, and a board-certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She has a combined twenty years of clinical experience as an acupuncturist, public health professional and nursing assistant.
Her wide range of clinical experience is accumulated across three continents and within multiple facilities: orthopedic; internal medicine; addiction and recovery; community; maternity; and a spiritual center. She has worked and collaborated with medical doctors, traditional healers (shamans, hilots) physiotherapists, midwives, chiropractors and nurses to benefit the health and wellbeing of patients. K.D. creates an environment that is safe, open and relaxing holding each patient with the utmost care and compassion.
She has a tremendous reverence for the many phases of healing and the diversity of healing modalities. Her medical training and master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) was received from Emperor’s College in Santa Monica, California. K.D. obtained her master’s degree in public health from BRAC University, James P. Grant School of Public Health, Bangladesh.
